Play Therapy

An Integrative Holistic Model of play Therapy is facilitated

Play is a child's most natural form of communication and as such Play Therapy offered the child a way to explore difficult thoughts and feelings in a safe and contained manner.

It is most suitable for children between the ages of 3-12 but this would also depend on their own level of development.

The model of Play Therapy used integrates the therapeutic use of a wide range of creative arts media such as art, sand play, puppets, stories and role play  to work with a child's conscious and unconscious processes using both non-directive and directive approaches .

Therapeutic Life Story Work

Life Story work is facilitated with the child along with a parent or primary carer

Many children have complex early life experiences which result in moves and changes in family make up and situation.

Therapeutic Life journey  will help the child to learn more about their life experiences , explore how they feel about them and create a record of them to keep.

Consultations

Consultations may be facilitated with parents or those in the  Support Network around the child

Consultations are provided to help parents carers and supporters to better understand the child and how best they may be able to meet their needs.

Psych educational support is a crucial part of this work as we know Early childhood trauma has a significant impact on the child's developing brain and this in turn has an impact on a child's behaviour and ability to make  meaningful attachments
